Technical Lead – Service Operations, Microsoft, Azure, SCOM, OMS, Monitoring, London
We are looking for Microsoft Azure Technical Lead to join our client based in central London working as a key member of the Support and Operations team, Suitable Microsoft Azure technical leads must have strong interpersonal skills along with exceptional technical capability to provide 2nd/3rd line support & operational implementations.
Responsibilities
- Implementation, support, and deployment of Azure dedicated and hybrid platforms
- Key member (Senior) of the Support & Operations team providing 24/7 2nd & 3rd line support
- Working directly with clients and project teams to implement processes and technology that support various technical and business functions
- Hands on support and configuration of cloud infrastructures
- Recommending and implementing new technology
- Implementation and configuration of Active Directory and Windows Server
- Stand-in for the Support & Operation’s manager when required
- Field and manage technical customer issues via phone, chat, email, and remote web sessions
- Engage with Development, QA and Product teams in bringing cases to resolution
- Provide out of hours support as per the on-call rota
- Create technical documentation that can be referenced by peers as formal processes and procedures to follow while completing daily tasks
- Automate frequent tasks via scripts
- Maintain Information Security policy as it relates to the cloud environment
- Delivering hardware and software lifecycle maintenance activities (patching, capacity management, monitoring etc)
- Create, implement, and support monitoring solutions
- Keep up to date on technology supported and is a key participant in knowledge transfer.
- Drives incident resolution and process improvements to minimize impact to the production environments and business clients
- Work closely with clients, vendors and technical groups to provide support and escalations for technical incidents
- Work with the test team to ensure existing and new services are successfully transitioning to live
- Understanding and adherence to Change, Incident, and Problem Management procedures.

Good working knowledge & experience in:
- SQL Server
- Networking – OSI Model, Web Configuration
- Storage – Store Simple, TFS
- Infrastructure provisioning tools and techniques
- Service Automation / Automated infrastructure provisioning
- Server Virtualisation Technologies (Hyper-V, VMWare)
- Project Management methods
