Technical Lead – Service Operations, Microsoft, Azure, SCOM, OMS, Monitoring, London

 

We are looking for Microsoft Azure Technical Lead to join our client based in central London working as a key member of the Support and Operations team, Suitable Microsoft Azure technical leads must have strong interpersonal skills along with exceptional technical capability to provide 2nd/3rd line support & operational implementations.

 

Responsibilities

 

  • Implementation, support, and deployment of Azure dedicated and hybrid platforms
  • Key member (Senior) of the Support & Operations team providing 24/7 2nd & 3rd line support
  • Working directly with clients and project teams to implement processes and technology that support various technical and business functions
  • Hands on support and configuration of cloud infrastructures
  • Recommending and implementing new technology
  • Implementation and configuration of Active Directory and Windows Server
  • Stand-in for the Support & Operation’s manager when required
  • Field and manage technical customer issues via phone, chat, email, and remote web sessions
  • Engage with Development, QA and Product teams in bringing cases to resolution
  • Provide out of hours support as per the on-call rota
  • Create technical documentation that can be referenced by peers as formal processes and procedures to follow while completing daily tasks
  • Automate frequent tasks via scripts
  • Maintain Information Security policy as it relates to the cloud environment
  • Delivering hardware and software lifecycle maintenance activities (patching, capacity management, monitoring etc)
  • Create, implement, and support monitoring solutions
  • Keep up to date on technology supported and is a key participant in knowledge transfer.
  • Drives incident resolution and process improvements to minimize impact to the production environments and business clients
  • Work closely with clients, vendors and technical groups to provide support and escalations for technical incidents
  • Work with the test team to ensure existing and new services are successfully transitioning to live
  • Understanding and adherence to Change, Incident, and Problem Management procedures.

  • Wide range of Microsoft Azure technology including

 

o             Application Gateways

o             Load Balancing

o             Firewall Configuration

o             Azure AD

o             Web Apps

o             Windows Server

o             Disaster Recovery

o             IIS

o             Windows Certification

o             Fail-Over Clustering

o             Back Up & Restoration

 

  • Services Patching & Maintenance, including Health Checking and Capacity Management
  • Security

o             Experience with hardware and software based Firewalls, Load Balancers, Proxy Servers, and Port Allocation

  • Monitoring

o             SCOM, OMS, Application Insights

  • IaaS, Paas, & SaaS platform environments

 

Good working knowledge & experience in:

 

  • SQL Server
  • Networking – OSI Model, Web Configuration
  • Storage – Store Simple, TFS
  • Infrastructure provisioning tools and techniques
  • Service Automation / Automated infrastructure provisioning
  • Server Virtualisation Technologies (Hyper-V, VMWare)
  • Project Management methods

 

Desirable Skills & Experience:

 

  • Visual Studio Team Services (VSTS)
  • ARM templates
  • Application experience – Biz talk & Logic Apps
  • ITIL Certifications – Foundation & Service Operations
  • Knowledge / experience of Project Management
  • Any application development skills
